I talk about how teachers can use Youtube to find content to show in their classrooms, find an array of tutorials, and discover content that assists in their professional growth.

  1. Dr. Deyamport,
My name is Melissa Canterbury and I am a student in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. First off let me say how excited I was when I saw your blog assigned next to mine in my Google Drive from Dr. Strange. I really enjoyed learning Google Hangouts and our conversation with you last week in class. Dr. Strange's class is different from any other class I ever had. He encourages us to explore technology and find resources for teaching in the 21st century.

We are assigned to read the last blog post on our assigned blogs and comment on them. When I saw that it was a tutorial on YouTube, I'll be honest, I thought "Oh everyone knows how to use YouTube, I have watched every rerun of Keeping Up with the Kardashian's YouTube. What more could I learn?" Well I was wrong! Thank you so much for showing your readers what Ted Talks was and more importantly for me as an educator, TedEd! I am going to explore YouTube more on that channel.

Also, I never really paid attention to the channels that YouTube has now. I love how I can click directly on the name and brings me to their profile. I never really knew how convenient that was.

I am slowly learning about technology in the classroom and how it is taken over whether educators are ready or not. I want to be the best teacher for my students and give them all the resources possible to be a successful student so I am looking forward to visiting your blog more! Hopefully we can do another Hangout in Dr. Strange's class as well!

Thank you for your YouTube tutorial, it was very helpful! Please visit my blog and feel free to leave feedback!

  2. Melissa,

Wow... Thank you so much. I am happy that the tutorial was useful to you. Please add me on Google+ I will be making more training videos, including a more in-depth look into TEDEd and other sites like Schoologogy. Feel free to ask questions.
